Hey, can anyone help me out with some research into the mythology of dragons. I am looking for any information or sources of information on where and when some of the mythologies began and possible real world explanations for these myths (any and all societies). Thanks.

Wikipedia is great (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page), but for an all-encompassing site devoted to myth, legends, and folklore, I don't think you can beat Encyclopedia Mythica (http://pantheon.org/).

From wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_dragon

I also got the following by typing 'origin of dragons' into google:

An interesting dragon site: http://www.blackdrago.com/index.html
A little strange but interesting: http://www.monstrous.com/monsters/dragons.htm#_Toc532953361
Informative: http://members.tripod.com/~gfriebe/origin.htm

I need help from any one that has been to or lives in Greece. I am looking for information on the types of plants, grasses, and trees one would find on the western coastline of Greece. A small fishing village name would be great too if it was near a forest and rocky coastline. Pictures would be nice if possible. I have looked on Wikipedia and found the content dry in these areas. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Ok, you wanted pics of Greece and so that's what I'm gonna give you! (Actually they are of Rhodes - Greek Island - , but the geography and flora and fauna is almost identical.) These are holiday snaps from last month. ;)

Hope these are of some help!

Thanks for the pics James. You would not happen to know any names of the types of trees and shrubs you saw. I want to make the landscape authentic when I describe it. Nice pictures too. I would enjoy seeing that some day.

I'm afraid I have no idea, you'll have to keep hunting for that info I'm afraid.

I just hoped really that from the pics you might be able to get an idea of at least what the coast and landscapes might look like in your story.

They helped, but I am still looking for some specifics. Thanks.
