I've recently bought a copy of The Green Rider and I loved it. If you have gotten any reply to your last post about Kristen Britian let me know. I'll keep you informed if I hear anything.

The name is spelled Kristen Britain.
Green Rider will be out in paperback this fall. The sequel will be out, possibly, next spring.
There is info on her in this month's Daw Publishing newsletter at the Daw website.

I recently bought Green Rider and thought I had got myself a jem as it started very well.
Unfortuantely, for me the plot quickly slowed down to an annoyingly slow pace and I just couldnt finish the book. :(

Well that's freaky. I just found out about this author yesterday from my SFBC magazine. I've got to pick up Green Rider sometime, it looks really good to me. It's in pb according to amazon, and the second book just came out in hc.

I really enjoyed Green Rider. It wasn't terribly complex, but the characters were engaging and Britain's ideas were certainly interesting. Can't wait for the sequel to finally come out in paperback...
(and BOY this is an old topic :D )

Since this very old topic has been resurrected I'll just add a comment too.
I read Green Rider not that long ago. It's not an instant classic but I still liked the book well enough for what it was. It somehow reminded me a bit about the 'Pern' books. Green Rider had some of the same mix of worldbuilding/atmosphere and nice characters, or so I felt.
The plot wasn't terribly complex but it was a good, quick read. I'll pick up the next in the series if I ever have the chance.
Oh, and by the way...Kristen Britain mentioned in the foreword that she had help and support from a number of authors: Terry Goodkind, John Marco and Lynn Flewelling. I've not haeard of the later before, but as far as I know the two former writers writes rather different types of books. Just thought it was worth noting.

Green Rider was an easy to read book. I believe the sequel "First Riders Call" has been released in paperback in the UK.
