Should I read all four books in a row? [aSoIaF]

I really liked the first book in ASOIAF. I loved the politcal intrigue and I also like that Martin is a really truly original writer. I liked it so much that I felt it necessary to buy the next two in the series (they were being sold as a "pack" for $12.99). Should I read another novel before I go into the next ACOK, or should I go right into it? I'm just worried I'll get bored with Martin's style or something (thoughI don't exactly see that happening).

Go all 4 in a row. No way you will get bored!

This series changed my life. Some of the best fantasy I have ever read, and I have read a lot. I didn't really like A Feast for Crows, but you will definitely enjoy yourself with this series.

3000+ pages all in a row might deaden the experience a little, though I did try to read most of the first three again before Feast. (Didn't quite make it to Storm).

You could try the 'old approach': read the first three, then wait five years... :D

Personally I like to read a whole series in one go, so I would recommend you stop reading, wait for Martin to finish the series, then read the whole lot. It all depends on your reading habits :)

Well I read the first three and then had to wait two years for AFFC. But I always read what is out in a series all at one time. You could wait till it is all done, but then I have a feeling you really don't want to wait maybe another 7 to ten years. Personally, I would read all four now, and then sit in the same boat as the rest of us waiting impatiently for the next one.

If you really liked the first book, A Game of Thrones, I highly doubt you'll "get bored" with the rest of the series. The series gets better and better, with A Storm of Swords probably being one of the best fantasy novels of all time!

A Feast For Crows, the latest book, is quite a bit slower, and just came out after a 5 year wait. If you really wanted, you could hold off reading that one right away. But definitely read the first three... Now..! :)

If I were you I would read the first 3 (A Game of Thrones, A Clash if Kings, Storm of Swords) I would maybe skip reading a Feast for Crows untill A Dance with Dragons because I believe those 2 books were suppose to be one book. :D

Like Muess, I like to read a series right through; I have a strict rule never to start a series of books until all of them are in print, so I can blast straight through them if I want to. I heard such good things about ASoIaF that I broke this rule, and I really really wish I hadn't - it's driving me crazy having to wait for the next one to trickle out, I've never been so eager to know what happens next to a bunch of characters. So, I'd say no - don't even start them!! (I think.)
