I know the subject of parallel worlds has been discussed
previously on this forum. To the best of my knowledge,
one of the earliest works in this area is the novel "The Blind Spot"
by Austin Hall and Homer Eon Flint published in 1921.

This is a very original story for its time, and for those who are
as enthusiastic about genesis of things as I am, it would be a
pleasure to read.
