I have to go by Books-A-Million to return some books that my mom got me for my birthday. I have already read them, and she gave me the receipt to get books that I haven't read. What book/s should I get? Or, what author should I look for?

Sorry to sound rather blunt, Charles, but you could try reading the other posts in this 'Fantasy' section for some ideas on what books/authors to read. Many posters have constributed their suggestions, all worthy reads, and I think not many will be too keen to type all those suggestions out again here for you.
Oh, and happy reading!
IMHO... ^_^

Though Sojourn is basically right, he a few quick reccomendations:
George R.R. Martin "Song of ice and fire"
(Vol. 1 "A game of thrones" vol 2 "A clash of kings")
Very epic, never black and white but "grey", gritty, bloody, not for the weak stomach
Robin Hobb lifeship trader trilogy (ship of magic, mad ship, ship of destiny)
Epic, dark not as epic nor as dark as Martin though
G.G. Kay "Tigana"
Very poetic, for once a story finished ib one book.
Steven Burst Vlad Taltos series (start with book of Jhereg very good value for money)
More humor than those above, but sort of dark too, narrated by a assassin/capo in ia sort of "fantasy mafia"
Terry Pratchett's discworld series (more than 20 volumes in several subseries, start with Wyrd sisters or Guards! Guards!)
Very good fantasy humor, parodistic and satirical

It no longer matters, I had to get some books for one of my classes, and I used that opportunity to get the books. I had to get The Outsiders and Rumblefish by S. E. Hinton. By the way, the books are pretty good. I have already read The Outsiders, and I am about half way through with Rumblefish. Now I have to finish the paper about the situation in which the books took place.
