Has anyone read Servant of the Shard by Salvatore?

This book is awesome. I love a lot of intrigue w/my fantasy. To bad Drizzt isnt in it or it would be even better.

Does anyone know if Salvatore is going to write about the Ranger Dark Elf again?

Oh and is the Demon Wars Trilogy worth buying?

Personally, I really, really, really enjoyed the Demon Wars series. I think if you like the rest of Bob's work you won't be let down by it.

I just recently finished Servant of the Shard and I have to agree and disagree with you Zed. Firstly it was a good story in the fact the Salvatore wrote it solely using his best two characters IMHO. I was so happy to read just about Artemis and Jarlaxle and not have to hear about the sappy, fight for right, rather boring Drizzt. I assume that in Sea of Swords we will see more of Drizzt again (much to my dismay), I would just rather hear tales of Artemis and Jarlaxle's adventures myself. Also if you like intrigue (of which I must say there is little in Salvatore's books) check out the Song of Ice and Fire series by Martin who is a master of intrigue. I also agree that Demon Wars is another entertaining read.

Thanks for the advice ethanx. i will chech on that book you mentioned. I too would love to just read about the two villains. They are very dynamic characters. Right when you think you know what they will do they do just the oppisite.

Can you pick up Servant of the Shard without having read any other Salvatore?

Ah, well, usually I tell members to use the Search function before opening a new thread - and very often the topic of interest is either Eddings or Salvatore. ;)

So, Hamer, thanks for using the Search function. BUT do you have to revive a 6 year old thread? Or did you just go through very old threads and found one you liked?

Anyway, there are threads from this and last year about Salvatore. And in them are useful links and maybe an answer or two to your question. So I close this thread and sorry, but you have to use the Search function for real. ;)
