Speaking of not being a story, here's one. I called it "Anticipation" in hopes of brighter days ahead...

Very nice, Rad, but doesn't she need to adjust her Bluetooth?

LOL, okay HE, you've completely ruined this picture for me. Now I can't look at it as anything but a headset and she's anticipating an incoming call. I do like the realistic look to the figure with the skin texture, though. You're getting very good at that, Kevin.

That would be a cool ad for Motorola at a LARP or Gencon :-)
So, how difficult would be for you draw something for an e-zine that has both a younger and adult audience? I've got one called Silver Blade (http://www.silverblade.net) that I need to get cover and page art for. The second issue is coming up at the end of February.

Good one, HE! :D But I think this is the Bluetooth version...

krademacher - The images are not drawn; they are 3D computer models. I do accept private commissions; if you're interested, send me a PM and we can discuss rates.

Here's another lighting experiment, called "I've Been Waiting For You".

Oh no, that doesn't work for me. The woman is fine, but the lighting -- it looks like the strong glow of the lighting from below is somehow stopped by her breasts. I don't mean this because she's wearing the chest chains and her breasts are partially exposed. It wouldn't matter if they were completely covered -- you have very bright flashlight light in that bottom right corner there, and then it just mostly cuts off at her waist, with some slight glimmers at shoulder and neck. If that light is as strong/glowy as it looks at the bottom of the picture than more of the right side of her face at least should be at a stronger illumination, especially as her head is tilted downward. It might help if she's turned a little more away so that the left part of her is more in shadow, but then I don't know what sort of light look you're going for here. But it comes across to me as disconnected.
*Okay, I'll edit that. Taking another look, you've got light reflection on her hair up top, but it doesn't seem to match the illumination on her face.

See, Her Greatness delves into the mechanics whilst I, being an old person, wonder about things like the red strings depended from her neck. They aren't bra strings as they are not taught enough. They could be a seam on the jacket though the left one seems to be detached or at least is not in a reasonable position on the jacket to serve that function. So, they are one of those marketing ploys that get you engrossed in the topic because they simply don't belong where they are discovered.
They worked!
And I like her. And I am not happy with whoever has made her cry.
Re second Bluetooth: what kind of space suit gets molded to the body like that? Is this one of those smart fabrics with molecular memory that lesser sff writers go on and on about? Well, one can certainly understand the fascination of adolescent boys, but us more mature persons hardly even notice. :)

I always love to see what people 'see' in the pictures! Since it quite often is not what I see or intended, which is fascinating.
KatG - I was considering the "lighter" area at the base of the picture to be more like a mist, rather than a bright light source; hence it's not creating a specific light effect of it's own.
HE - It's not a space suit; she's a robot (the same one from the Robot and Her Horse image). Note the ball joints in her shoulders. Thus it's not a skin tight suit; it is her skin. As for the "strings" on the red lady, are you sure that's all you were looking at? ;)

If you want it to be misty, then I'd say more white-grey, less yellow to it. Right now it looks like she's either standing near a campfire or car headlights, and she's looking down sort of towards the light source, so that was actually the first thing that struck me when I saw the picture -- why isn't the right half of her face more lighted up? Then I noticed the chains. :)
