Well, that one was just a warm up anyway, to keep you all busy while I worked on something else. :D

Here's one with a bit more interest, perhaps...

OOoo, HE's judge! Told you, HE, don't take that wine hidden in that cellar!

Cool, pic, Rad, except .... if that's a light shining at her back, why doesn't she cast a shadow? And ... how can the candle in front of her shine over that big book? Shouldn't the book be casting a shadow on her?

The light from the candle is next to the book, illuminating both it and her face. I had to position the light source fairly specifically in this one to get the effect, actually.

Very nice picture, Rad. Well done.
For those inquiring minds that will want to know why her arms are raised in such a fashion, the popularly-jumped-to-conclusion might be that she is performing some arcane rite requiring chanting to goddesses and imps and such but the truth is so much less dramatic. Off screen to her left is the assemblage of the LOW choir and poker society. It's Friday night. After a good sing, to which our protagonist is about to give the downbeat. they intend an all night session of stud poker.

LOW = little old witches

Exactly. Uncanny how he can see straight to the heart of the matter...

And thank you, too. :)

Ummm ... what about no shadows?

Gosh, such impatience! ;)

Ok, if you go back and look at the picture now, you should see some slightly better shadow work around the base of the figure... (Be sure to hit reload on your browser so that the revised image gets loaded up...)

Does anyone know why I can't see any pictures here, all of a sudden? Most of the ones from the last thread and the beginning of this thread show up fine, but the newer ones (and some of the older ones) are just showing up as a red X in a box. :(

Any ideas?

How very odd - I don't know what would be causing that. I did make a change a while back as far as where the newer images are stored, since I was maxing out my storage limit on my original host. The only substantive difference, though, is that the new host is an https address rather than an http one. Perhaps there is some setting on your browser that is preventing https links from getting through?

Any of you SFFWorld mod-types that hang around in here have any other clues?

Ok, keeping to the theme here...

Rheingold - hope you can see this one... :(
