Can anyone suggest any books/resources that focus on the subject of dialogue or screenwriting.

You might find this article in Writer's Digest interesting:
Draft Better Dialogue (http://www.writersdigest.com/articles/kempton_dialogue.asp)
Writer's Digest also has a series of books out, which might include on one dialogue. I currently own ones on plot, character, conflict (all pretty good) and setting (bit of a yawn-fest).

I highly recommend "Story" by Robert McKee. It is primarily focused on screenwriting, but many concepts translate well to other forms of fiction.
