Bring back Sword and Sorceress!

Sword and Sorceress was a yearly anthology of fantasy stories featuring strong female characters. It was created by Marion Zimmer Bradley and edited for most of its 21 year run. After Bradley’s death, it was taken over by her associate, Diana L Paxson. The stories were consistently wonderful, and many of the authors went on to become very successful. In fact the list of authors featured would make a great index of suggested reading.

Those of you who aren’t familiar with the series should check out these links

Then run to the nearest used bookstore and see if you can find some of them.

As for those of you who’ve read the books already, would you like to see more?

If so, you need to write to the publisher: I already have.

Thanks.

I wasn't aware DAW books has decided to discontinue this series. I bought some older copies of this series but stopped doing this. The quality of the stories was decent but never exceptional. My main problem was the lenght of the stories. I just felt there were too many stories (20 or more) in one slim volume (300 pages). I like short fiction but since my favorite format is the novella there wasn't much for me in Sword&Sorceress.
