Trying to remember a story I read 20 years or more ago in which our attempts at correcting global warming resulted in an Ice Age within a hundred years or so. Arctic conditions and worse as far south as Chicago. Seems like there may have been astronauts who crash-landed and were hunted as representing those respomsible? Maybe i'm confusing two stories.

Thanks for your help!

And it's available for free courtesy of the Baen Free Library:

Fallen Angels, by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle & Michael F. Flynn (n) (http://www.baen.com/library/067172052X/067172052X___1.htm)

And I'll probably start an argument here by saying that it is easily the worst SF novel that I have ever read. Fandom saves the world! Give me a break...

There's gotta be something worse....Oh no I'm thinking of The Crater Lake Monster--but that was a movie!

No argument there from me - I read it years ago and will never read it again - it was very polemical - pushing its authors' anti-Green message to the extent that the Greens were the bad guys [way beyond a difference of opinion].
However, this hasn't stopped me enjoying other Niven novels - I don't judge an author on just one bad book.;)
