I really liked all of the Dragonlance books penned by Hickman and Weis. All those others I didn't bother with, and refuse to acknowledge as "real" dragonlance books.

TSR did an evil thing when they pumped all those paperbacks out.

I haven't the money . . . and my library sucks. If only that book had come out a little closer to my birthday.

Oh well.

The Chronicles and Legends were really good. The Chronicles series is one of the first fantasy series that I read, and I have been hooked ever since. I also liked the Soulforge by Weis alone.

I agree with Azurehero for the most part; the quality of the DragonLance books NOT by Weis and Hickman are not really up to par with the originals. The only one that I thought was close to being on the same level was the The Legend of Huma, then again it was one of the first ones NOT by W&H.

I will be picking up the 1st War of the Souls book, Dragons of the Fallen Sun, when it comes out in paperback.

I first read DL books in highschool. I loved all three at the time and someday I hope to have another look through to see if I was mistaken or not. ^^ All books need to have a second reading, but it's only a matter of time that prevents that.

Anywho, I never managed to read the following books that came after, are they any good?

Dragonlance, bleah. I read the Chronicles. I didn't like them. There were several things about the writing style that irritated me.

To be honest, I just started Dragons of Autumn Twilight. I've avoided Dragonlance for quite a while; the sheer number of volumes really put me off. Besides that, I'm not really into role-playing games, so . . .

The only reason that I picked it up was because a good friend recommended them. I've read the first four chapters, and it's okay so far. It's too soon to cast a stone in either direction, though.

I've decided that if I like DoAT, I will only read the Dragonlance books by Weis and Hickman.

yeah, I've got the omnibus version of the first four Dragonlance books. I hope to start them soon, but doubt I'll be reading the others....

In adition to the Weis and Hickman books I have really enjoyed the DL work of Richard Knaak and Douglas Niles.
