I wanted to create a thread devoted to the medieval and or sword epic genre.Where, if its not on anyones list, you can add a film you've seen. They can be off any nationality,as long as they feature a good amount off combat. Im hoping a few people can add some obscure films I haven't heard off.So I'll just get all the obvious one's out off the way.

Gladiator.
Kingdom of heaven.
The 13th warrior.
Musa the warrior.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Robin hood(all versions)
First Knight.
Excalibur.
Conan Films.
Bang rajan.
Brave heart.
Troy.
King Athur.
Frank Millers 300.
Tristan and Isolde.
Beowulf and grendel.
The vikings.
Spartacus.
The Last Samurai.
Alexander.
Lone wolf and cub.
Ran/Kagemusha.
Joan of Ark(Besson)
Pathfinder.
Seven Swords.

My ratings, as a fan of these sort of movies:

Gladiator: 9 out of 10
Kingdom of heaven: 7.5
The 13th warrior: 8
Musa the warrior: 7
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: 8.5
First Knight: 7.5
Excalibur 6
Conan Films: 5
Braveheart: 9.5 ( my favorite movie regardless of genre)
Troy: 8
King Athur: 8.5
Frank Millers The 300: yet to be released
Tristan and Isolde: 8
Beowulf and grendel: 7.5
The vikings: 7
The Last Samurai: 9
Alexander: 7
Ran/Kagemusha: 3 ( sorry don't care for Kurosawa's Samurai movies at all)
Pathfinder: yet to be released but looking forward to it.

Your list is pretty big, I could only add:

Rob Roy: 8
Gettysburg: 4 ( I thought this was very boring)

This is probably my favorite genre of movie! I can't really think of any new ones to add, off the top of my head. But here's my ratings:

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship - 11/10 (yes, eleven!)
Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - 9.5/10
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - 10/10
Braveheart - 9.5/10
Conan the Barbarian - 9.5/10
Conan the Destroyer - 7.5/10
Gladiator - 9/10
Troy - 8.5/10
King Athur - 8/10
Beowulf and Grendel - 9/10

Those are my favorite of the bunch...

You forgot one of the best ones - "A Knights Tale"!
"Name of the Rose" has possibly the best medieval atmosphere.

Nobody's mentioned Flesh and Blood aka The Rose and the Sword
-Verhoeven's medieval movie with Rutger Hauer.
That's pretty fun.

Here's a few you have missed:

Willow: 7/10
Krull: 4/10 (Starring Liam Neeson in one of his less famous roles=)
Dungeons and dragons: 5/10
Ivanhoe: 7/10
Hidden dragon couching tiger: 6/10
Hero: 6.5/10
House of flying daggers: 6/10

And as to "pathfinder" I know there is a movie coming out this winter that seems awesome but there is also a Norwegian film called Pathfinder (vägvisaren) from 1987 that is really really good (also medieval).

p.s. Sooo looking forward to The 300!!

I think it's just "300", not The 300.

I totally agree on 11/10 about Fellowship there Evil.

The Rurouni Kenshin prequel OVA's belong on any sword epic list, with a high recommendation too.

Maybe "The Lion in Winter" should be added to the list?
