George RR Martin has released the first of eight podcasts he is doing for his publisher. The first podcast covers the origin and development of A Song of Ice and Fire. The podcast can be accessed via this link (http://www.westeros.org/ASoWS/News/Entry/1725/).

Yeah, much of the first episode I'd already heard from when I went to his book signing in manchester.

Still, I'm sure there will be plenty of new insights in the following instalments and I'm looking forward very much to listening to the next episode.

Hmm. When he said 'started' he's not kidding. It about how he wrote stories as a kid and that led to him being published in his early twenties. Some funny bits there (him scaring the neighbours' kids with his stories is particularly amusing).

Just before I download them, could I ask if it were spoiler-free?
