Someone mentioned JV Jones above, well I have to say that I'm a huge fan. A Cavern of Black Ice is one of my all time favourite books, and _way_ outstrips her previous effort, the 'Book of Words' Trilogy, which I found rather juvenile, although enjoyable enough. The next book in the Sword of Shadows series is out in April 2001, it's called 'A Fortress of Grey Ice'. Can't wait!

I'm also a bit Terry Pratchett fan, though I won't be reading the new one until Christmas, my partner is buying it for me (along with Winter's Heart) as presents, and I'm under strict instructions not to even look at them berore Christmas morning! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Hey Road Killer

Who could be the main character in The Final Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant?

If if was set 10 years (or later) than the last set, who else but ROGER Covenant, TC was the white magic, his son would inherit it.

Then again, not only is the power of life and death broken in the Land, with the resurrection of Hollian, the dead can now influence events in the Land, so Thomas Covenant could STILL be the main character
