help: can't remember author/title (old) short story

The plot: After some event, perhaps a crash, the occupants are slowly waking up. Once awake, they soon realize they are not actually awake, but living in a world created in the mind of one of the occupants -- a world they don't like. They realize they must identify the person creating the world and kill him or her -- at which point they find themselves in the next waker's world. Thus all must be killed before they can retrun to the real world.

As I recall, they convince one person to banish things she doesn't like (e.g., cows), and eventually convince her to banish the air -- causing them all to die and move on to the next waker.

Would appreciate knowing the author and title. Thanks in advance.

This sounds a lot like Philip K. Dick's 'Eye in the Sky'.

From the plot summary described in several reviews of "Eye in the Sky", it sounds exactly right. I recall it being a short story, but since I read it many years ago, my recollection could by off. In any case, I'll try to find the book at some nearby bookstores.
