Way back in the 80's, I saw a cartoon scifi movie. I dont' remember much of the plot, except the main character was a slave working in a mine, and he escaped and met your stock Han Solo type guy who owned a ship. The ship is what I remember though. It looked a bit like a Firefly class ship like Serenity (Or, more accurately, Serenity looked like this ship). It had VTOL boosters sticking out the side and everything. At one point the ship crashed and the characters were thrown out the front windshield.
