One of my favorite movie bad guys/character actors -always interesting to watch.

Here's a tribute on the video watchdog blog::

What's Voltan from?

I thought Palance was awesome in Batman ("Jack, you're my number one guy"), and City Slickers ("I crap bigger than you!", best line in the film).

Not really that familiar with Palance's work. I remember him being an effective and sinister host of Ripley's Believe It or Not though.

Yes, it's as cheesy as it looks :D

The tagline is inaccurate: Hawk and Voltan are locked in deadly combat only in the last few minutes of the movie. The rest of the time Voltan sneers and Hawk assembles your standard D&D party.

Trivia: Hawk is played by John Terry, who also plays Jack's dad in the TV series Lost.

Palance was great as Jack Wilson in Shane. Easily one of the greatest movie villains ever.

I liked Palance's Ripley's Believe It or Not! too :D

Yeah I also enjoyed his presentation of Ripley's believe it or not He had that air about him which made you appreciate the show more.

Sorry to see you go Jack
