Drewids
January 1st, 2001, 09:23 AM
I have seem some really interesting names of posters on this board. Some are obvious, but some I would like to know the origins of. FitzChivalry, FitzFlagg, Allanon etc... are ones I think are obvious, but to some maybe not.
I'll start with mine. I was looking for a name for my rotissere baseball team and I like the name Druids, but instead I spelled differently because of my daughter, her name is Drew.
So if anyone wants to write a quick blurb about where you got the name you use here on the board, I would be interested to know.
Sorry if this thread has been done.

Oh well... mine is a little bit mundane. When I logged on to my ISP the first time I tried to have DennisM as a user name, it recommended I try DennisM13786... err no thanx... so I typed dennizM, and got it streight away... boring!!!! I use it all the time, easy to remember (42 yrs old... mind going)

Well, FitzChivlary is a misspelling of FitzChivalry, the main character of The Farseer Saga by Robin Hobb, a great series.

Fitz from Robin Hobb's Farseer (Assasin books) and Flagg the recurring tough bad-@$$ demon in many Stephen King books (mainly The Stand, The Eyes of the Dragon, and Dark Tower series.

Mine's rather boring also-
W=first initial
A=middle initial
STRA=first four letters of my last name
WASTRA was the account name I was given by the all-knowing powers that be at the University of Kentucky when I started as a freshman many moons ago- all students got account names based on the same system.
Liselle

I think mine is one of the obvious ones: Liselle, from the Malloreon and Belgariad-Saga by David Eddings. Sometimes I think of changing it, but I am so used to it now...

In case some of you dont know its not my real name.It is the name of a minor character from the book Rise of a Merchant Prince, which is the second book in the Serpant War saga written by Raymond E Feist.
Why I use it? I dont know, I liked the sound maybe?It was just a name that reached out to me,and Feist is my fav writer, this is the first time I have used the name.The name i normally go by was already taken here.
