whatever happened to Clive Barker ?
ive read most of his books and admittadly he started to go downhill with his stories, Gallilee wasnt all bad, Sacrament wasnt much, seems after Everville he was never as good, the Abarta books look promising though, if he finishes them. he seems to have a tendency to leave a series unfinished, wasnt there meant to be another one after Everville, and wasnt there meant to be also another one after Galilee ?

I've always been a big Barker fan. I thought Galilee was fantastic, though I might have been blinded by either fanboyism or inexperience (I read it some time ago). Yes, we have been waiting 13 years now for the conclusion to The Art trilogy, which consists of The Great And Secret Show and Everville, two horrific and fantastic books. As far as I know he has no set plans to finish the trilogy.

The Abarat series has been hailed as a "return to form". I own both of the books, though I have yet to read them. Seems that Barker has spent a lot of time focusing on other mediums, whether that be art (by art I mean, "like pictures and stuff"), video games, movies, or plays. Galilee ended with room for a sequel, I don't know if there was ever supposed to be one.

good news mate, after i posted that last night i had a look and had a read of this site
http://www.clivebarker.info/
in there somewhere it says he has never forgotten the remaining Art book, or Gallilee2, hes going to finish the Abarat Quartet (good read) and then tackle the ones we have been waiting for, he says that the scope of the third Art book is massive, i guess its been twirling in his head taking shape all this time. i was quiet relieved to read that site actually. check it out.

I read that they should make a movie of Abarat. Anybody who knows?

I do not know why you haven't mentioned coldheart Canyon! Great read!

Also...his older books of Imajica(1 and 2) are a fantastic read!

Wow, thats amazing news Vooloc! Looks like I'll need to be rereading the first two Art books and maybe Galilee as well. I also really need to read Abarat, by all indications its a good 'un.

Shayna, Coldheart Canyon was indeed a great read. Imajica used to be my most favoritest book of all time when I was 15. Still a damn fine book, very epic.

I must say I really loved "Imajica" and His "Books of Blood". I just finished "Galilee" and thought it was not as good as the other books I have read.
