Which series do you follow?

Fantasy books tend to spread in series.
But you do not follow every series. Sometimes I read a book of an author, I decide that's ok but I do not buy the whole series or buy every new book that's published.
That happened to me with Robert Jordan.
But with other series I buy every new book that is published.
So which series do you follow and why?
And why do you stop?
Can you give me some new recommendations?
(May be I read the wrong book by Robert Jordan?)
So that are the series I follow at the moment(sometimes I don't know the English title):
George Martin Fire and Ice
J.V. Jones Cavern..
Katherine Kerr Deverry
Jane Welch "Necrönd"
John Marcos Tyrant and Kings
David Drake Dragon..
Robin Hobb Liveship...
Alan Cole Timura-Saga
Janny Wurts Light and Shadow
Mark Anthony Runes(?)
Stopped Tad Williams new series,Edding

I don't really "follow" many series. Usually, I try to wait until the books are all out, and then read them. However, I've been reading A Song of Ice and Fire since the first paperback edition of A Game of Thrones. I didn't start reading WoT until the fifth book was out, but I don't "follow" it; Jordan just isn't good enough.

I followed Sword of Truth until about the fourth book. Goodkind just lost it completely in that one. His obsession with the leather-clad dominatrix clan of the Mord Sith was just disgusting.

Ntschotschi-another Tyrants and Kings reader, allright!

If you mean series that aren't completed-
WOT
A Song of Ice and Fire
Tyrants and Kings
Otherland
The Dark Tower
Runelords
Rhapsody, Prophecy

I read the first Last Rune book by Mark Anthony, not sure if I will read the second, it is borderline.

I'm waiting for next installment of Song of Ice and Fire...

Hmm...besides that?

-I'm done with Jordan after Path of Daggers
-No more goodkind after Temple of Winds
-Probably won't read Feist again after first two demon books, and Silverthorn
-No more Brooks
-Read Robin Hobbs next series
-done with Kerr after book 5 or something?

Waiting for another great author or good author with a great idea.

I am a series follower to the serious extent. I'll read a single book story, though I always think how it could have been better with more detail and made into a trilogy. But here are the series I am following

-WOT
-Feist (right now the Legacy series)
-Robin Hobb Liveship (haven't read the last book)
-Goodkind (God, it was hard to admit that, but I usually never give up on a series, but this one brought me as close as I've come)
-Martin (Of course)
-Gemmell, Drenai series
-JV Jones, Book of Words
-Freidman, Coldfire
-Eddings (I haven't read the new one yet)
-Cherryh (Haven't started it yet, but will end up finishing it)

By the way, Pluvious, what do you mean by Feists two demon books? I think there is only one with the word demon in it, Rage of a Demon King.

Oh, wrong author. Salvatore's first two demon books. I forget what happened in the last Feist book I read...

Thanks for the answers. I haven't read Freidman and Gemmel.
Don't know "Rhapsoy, Prophecy"?
I read one book by Robert Jordan and couldn't understand what was going on?
Is it worth starting with book one, trying to grasp it?
Some of his fans sound quite annoyed with him, but keep on comparing him with other authors I really like.
Are there any new books by Feist lately?
The Dark Tower: I don't know if I would call it fantasy ...Maybe it's becoming fantasy ... I think when Stephen King wrote the first book he had no idea where this was leading to.
Or at least that was my impression. And I like it when I'm puzzled.
Now it's becoming more predictable. It tends to sound more and more like the Last Stand, which is a shame.
From some of the answers I got the impression that you rather follow a certain author than a series.

Rhapsody and Prophecy are two books by Elizabeth Haydon, a new fantasy writer. Rhapsody was first published in the US in 1999. Both pretty good books.

And yes, you should really read the first Wheel of Time book and the rest in order to get what is going on, unlike Sword of Truth.

I think a lot of the WOT fans are frustrated by the wait between books more than anything. The quality of two of the more recent books in the series were less than the standard that Robert Jordan set with the early volumes. However, the most recent volume (#9) Winter's Heart, picked up the quality.

I am following 3 series at the moment which are:

1. George Martins " A Song of Ice and Fire"
2. Steven Erikson "A Tale of the Malazan book of the Fallen"
3. J K Rowling "Harry Potter"

Thet are are ace, and all 3 of the series so far, have been excellent, and I can not put them down once I start reading them.

You guys have mentioned Martin's name time and time again, so I won't do it again (wait, I just did. damn. Now I'm a hypocrite.)

it's sci-fi, but i'm loving the Ender's shadow books by orson scott card.

I'm about halfway through the Hyperion series too, although that one is done with. Isn't it?

Because I'm a geek, I'll probably read any sequels to Crytonomicon, by neal Stephenson. But that first one was almost too much of a let down at the end. Bad ending, bad ending *spank spank spank*.

It should come as no suprise to some of you that I read the new Dune books. Every one else seems to hate them. I think they're pretty nifty. But then, i'm a heretic on sci-fi boards because I like Kevin j. Anderson books, so go figure.

I'm horrible to admit this, but I read one of those damn harry potter books while trapped at aunt lisa's house over christmas, and I fear i'm probably going to have to read all the others at some point (voldemort (sp?) is such an evil pig.) Don't tell anybody though.

Getting into "adult" fantasy: Whenever Hobb's next Fitz book comes out, i'm there.

Stephen King's dark tower books...if the wait doesn't kill me it only makes me stronger, right? Nearly shat myself when i heard he had been hit by a truck: Now I'll NEVER get to read it! Boy, am I a shallow person or what? I have an orphan friend who (I kid you not) thinks Roland is his lost father. Wouldn't that be a kick in the head...

Read the Lucifer Principle, by Bloom...it's not scifi or fantasy (or maybe it is, I can't decide) and I'll prob read the sequels to it too.
