Who's your five favorite Fantasy couple/s? These are some of my faves voted in no particular order:

1. Richard/Kahlan - SoT by T. Goodkind
2. Erin/Stefanos - Book of the Sundered by Michelle Sagara West
3. Del/Tiger - Sword Dancer Series J. Roberson
4. Morgaine/Vanye - Morgaine Saga by C.J. Cherryh
5. Rand/Min - WoT by R. Jordan

Ummm...fantasy love stories tend to really reak of unoriginality, but I'll give it a shot.

Del/Tiger was pretty good but got old after awhile.

FitzChivalry and the townsgirl (name) was realistic and got my emotional juices flowing from time to time.

And (not fantasy but sci-fi I guess) the Endymion books with Raul and the god-girl was a great love story.

Now for some bad ones:

Kahlan/Richard is boring.

Rand and the rest of the weak female characters in WOT is lame.

Pug's romances in Magician were very imature. Plus tomas and the queen was a bit too cute and tidy for my liking.

All Eddings's crappily sweet love stories are bogus.

I can't think of any else right now.

Does anyone really care about the love plots in fantasy novels? I don't know about anyone else, but those are the last, and most annoying, aspects in the novel I enjoy. I understand some do like them, but to take to much of them into account is disregarding the thrust of the story.

And I HAVE to say that Richard and Kahlan are probably the most annoying "couple" in fanatsy. I tried and skipped over as much as I could when they were together.

Heh, indeed love is usually done pretty bad in fantasy novels, i have nothing against it because it is after all a part of life but it is usually done in the boring "Prince Charming and Sinderela" way in fantasy books.

I think the only couple that i did like and were done kinda interesting was FitzChivlary and his girl in The Farseer Saga, i hope the seqeul books won't change it. Also Corwin of Amber had some interesting mates, Julia...

About Richard and Kahlan, yeah, they are the most annoying couple of Fantasy...
