I am so bored. I work about fifty hours a week, right? So all week i'm planning on having SOOOOOO much fun when I'm off. You know what I did today? I got on the internet and wrote a few posts, and watched a movie. Mother of twelve bastards, where did I go wrong? I should be out studying to be a doctor, figuring out how to create protien locks on cells so viruses can't attach themselves or something, and instead i'm watching this movie "Dragonheart" while eating corn chips.

Anyway.

Have you ever seen this movie? Is there some rule that says Sean Connery makes a cool voice over, or what? The movie was pretty awful, but Connery's dragon was bearable. Less bearable than James Bond, but bearable.

I thought the whole bit about the dragon slayer making his living by killing the dragon over and over in various villages was clever. Though I must ask: Was Dennis quaid the best actor for that part? I kept seeing Innerspace in my head for some reason.

Okay, groovy. Time for the point of the post.

If you were going to pick an actor to play the characters of a particular book, who would you pick? This is always fun, getting to see how far off everybody else is in their casting...

The Book in Question is:

A Game of Thrones

Who would you pick for Ned? Or for Jaimie Lannister? How about the Thunder That Rides? Jon Snow? Arya? The Water Dancer?

There are a metric ton of characters that need to be casted here, folks.

Seeing as how I would absolutely love to see a well done version of this movie, I figure we need to start rattling the chains of the movie execs now...that way I might get to see it before i'm dead. Can you imagine all of the people that wanted to see The Lord of the Rings as a movie that are dead now? The mind boggles...poor Jerry Garcia never saw the thing that probably defined his life up on the screen...

Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie.. and I will tell you when I come up with some other actors that I would want to suggest. Those are just my favorite ones right now. They both kick ass.

How about the guy who played in the new psycho and swingers for Jaime Lannister. Maybe Gary Sinese for Ned? Or Russel Crowe? Or better Crowe as the Hound.

Cersei Lannister by that redhead married to Tom Cruise. Jeffrey by that whining Robin character guy in Batman and Robin. How about that foreign dude who gave Arya the coin by Antonio Benderas? And Rickon by my little brother, any kid will do.

The mountain can just be played by some big wrestler dude....I know there is a 7 foot+ tall guy out there that's popular right now. Kevin Spacey as Littlefinger? John Malkovich as Varys? That Star Wars queen girl as Sansa? How about Liam Nieson as Tywin Lannister? Or Brad Pitt made to look old?

Thoughtcriminal: to the ministry of peace with you!
Damn, not only do you insult Dragonheart, which was great- it's for kids dammit! Especially big kids like me who also happen to be Bond Freaks. (Strike 2)
And then you add insult to injury by saying how you're life is crap 'cos u watched the movie eating corn-chips. DAMN YOU! You know what I'd give for a bag of corn chips? Fritos were they? Aaaagghh!!! We can't get 'em over here, oh we can get potato ones here, (and potato houses and cars...) man I miss corn chips, I really liked them, and those big fat dough prezels with the salt 1cm in diameter-mmmm!
Eh, right, to be fair I'll almost answer your q by saying Alan Rickman, as who I don't know but he's the man. His voice being this infectious, cynical, bitter sneere that always makes me laugh whatever the context, be he an intergalactic actor, an angel or a German terrorist. He's also not really an obvious choice, you know, I hate the way Hollywood often puts big-name actors where they don't belong only for the sake of popularity.
just thought I'd add this- Vinnie Jones as the next Darth Vader.
