Looking for a book

Hello. I'm looking for a book that I read about 9 years ago. I think the plot centered around a group of humans that lived in an alien ship and fought amongst themselves for small niches where they could rest. I remember one of the characters was named Griffin. If anybody can help me find this book, I would appreciate it.

hmm, sounds a little like I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison. a group living inside a computer, fighting, someone named Gorrister.

also sounds like this Octavie E. Butler book i read but i forget the title.

No, it's not those. I remember one more thing, there were people that lived at the bottom of the ship that were cannibals.
