Hi,

Anyone know any good stories about a thief or an assasin?
The more evil the better!

Many Thanks.

Tip:
Assassins Apprentice,
Assassins Quest,
Royal Assassin
aka "the Farseer trilogy" by Robin Hobb...
Not all that evil assassins, but a great series!

Juliet Mc Kenna's Thiefs Gamble is pretty good, but definitely not evil!

The Farseer trilogy was alreaedy mentioned, i can only second that, it's about an assassin on court though, if you want a more "criminal setting, i suggest the "Vlad Taltos novels" by Steven Brust (The book of Jhereg would be a good start (3 volumes in one).
It's like the Pulp Fiction of fantasy novels, with complicated timelines, and a storyteller who is a killer for a sort of mafia.

Thanks again peeps.

I've seen the Farseer trilogy, I'll try them.
I'll try thief's gamble and the Vlad Taltos novels as well.

Anyone read the TSR dungeons and dragons stuff?
There must be some good thief/assasin stuff in there.

Exuse me, but I think Fitz, in the Farseer Trilogy, was an "assassin", not an assassin. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Lyn Flawling's Nightrunner Series is about spies, thieves, assassins and stuff too..

But i didn't really like it, the plotline wasn't too intriguing i think.

Raymond Feist's Riftwar series features a thief, Jimmy the Hand, as one of its main characters. It also touches on the network of thieves that this thief is a member of.

There is also a stand alone novel titled Nightshade that I read some years back about a master thief. I can't recall the author's name just now, sorry.

"Legend of Nightfall" was a good assasin book if I remember, but Mickey Zucker Reichart. As far as TSR you might try "king Pinch" which dealt exclusively with thief characters.

Raymond Feist/Janny Wurts`Midkemia series features a guild of assassins and quite a few assassinations and intrigues.
