Anyone read this author at all? I might assume some of you folks who live in Australia may have as she is only published their under HarperCollins.
Just curious about this series, as I seem to stumble across her name from time to time..
Anyone else who is interested, she does have a website..

I've read both books that are out by Fallon. The first one, Medalon, was pretty good, the second one, Treason Keep, which has just come out here in Aus is brilliant.
If you can get hold of her stuff you really should read them... Medalon got shortlisted here in the Aurealis Awards as the Best Fantasy of 2000, which should give you a hint of the quality...
I don't know if her stuff is available outside Australia yet, but I suspect it will be eventually... it's seriously good, entertaining fantasy.

I bought Fallon's “Lion of the Senet” based upon John's recommendation. And I'm glad I did. The book was fantastic. So good in fact that I tore through it in one night, foregoing a night’s sleep. What really appealed to me was Fallon’s strong characterization. All the characters are interesting, no villain who is evil just because he is…well…evil. There is a lack of magic or otherwise "fantastical" aspects commonly associated with "Fantasy", which was surprising at first, the book being labeled as “fantasy” after all, but I found the twisting plot, and conflicted struggles of the characters more than made up for the “lack” of magic. This proved to be somewhat refreshing; no magic, no boy wizards, no evil dark lord, just a handful of morally ambiguous characters. And it is the strength of the characters that pull the book forward. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series (Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be released in the major bookstore chains in Canada, as of yet).
Fallon is far superior to Sarah Douglass in every respect. I recently toiled through Douglass's second book of The Troy Game trilogy, "God's Concubine", and boy what a pile of steaming s**t that turned out to be. It was a badly written medieval soap-opera with appalling characterization and a plot that redefines the word “insipid”. She is just a few notches, on my wall, above the never-should-have-been-published fantasy author Robert Newcomb. Rob Newcomb, Sarah Douglass, and Robert Staneck are what I call the "Evil Trinity" of fantasy.
Fallon has restored my faith that Australian fantasy authors can actually write something read-worthy.
Anyone who wants a fantastic read, one that breaks through the mold of cliques that pervade fantasy literature, give The Lion of Senet a shot. So far, it's the best fantasy book I have read since “The Briar King” and “The Darkness That Comes Before” and a strong contender for the best new fantasy novel of 2004.

She is an awesome author and is really nice too - I liked the Demon Child trilogy but LOVED the Second Sons Trilogy - the books are so good and after I finished each one I was dissapointed I had to wait till the next one came out and when the last one came out a month earlier than I thought (Lord f Shadows) I was on cloud nine!

Lord of Shadows is totally awesome excellent conclusion. Good thing about Fallon is that she is very consistent with her releases apartently the next Aussie release is really soon which I'm looking forward to - but I know the feeling I read 4 of her books in one hit then had to wait for the rest :)
