I'm hoping someone can help, hoping to tap into the vast data base of minds out there.

I'm searching for any novels or short stories on the subject of racing in space. Like, spaceships designed to be race cars and zooming past planets, etc.

I have 'Rocket Jockey' by Lester del Rey, but I think there was a book by Roger Zelazny, can't remember the title.

Any book or story suggestions are appreciated!

There's the Arthur C. Clarke story "Sunjammer" (renamed to "The Wind from the Sun") (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunjammer_%28short_story%29).

I know this is an old post but if it helps here you go! I think the book you are thinking of is

by Jeffrey A. Carver
from an outline by Roger Zelazny

Roger Zelazny had a whole Alien Speedway series. I think he wrote the first book, the other authors contributed stores.
