Yes I have read this series, I enjoyed the books but have to say it was when I had only just started reading fantasy so it is difficult to judge them.

I did carry on and read Trudy Canavans new series 'Age of Five' which I have to say I wasn't all that keen on.

Since then I have moved on to other slighly stronger books like R. Scott Bakker's ‘Prince of Nothing’, Erikson's ‘Malazan book of the Fallen’ and Robin Hobb's ‘Farseer Trilogy’ which I have enjoyed immensely.

I love the Black Magician Trilogy! I couldn't put it down! I think Trudi Canavan is planning some other books, a prequel series maybe. I could be wrong. I looked up her website after finishing Age of Five, which I also thought was great, and she has heaps planned, but over the next 10years! I'm not holding my breath, and may wait till an entire trilogy is released before reading any more. I hate waiting for books to arrive.

Do you have a favourite character? Or part?

Thanks for replying everyone:D . What are the story lines to the books that you read by Trudi Canavan, Eroll? Im curious cause i quite like the way she writes.

I love it to Dalla!!! My fav. character's (I have 2) are Dorrian and Sonea but unfortenately he's only been in it once so far cause im only on the 2nd book!!! Please asure me that he does come back...!!?? So far i like the bit when Dorrian kisses Sonea(cause im a sucker for romance:p !!) and when Sonea blinds Regin and his gang when they first decide to attack her in the forest!! Who is(are) your fav character(s)?? And whats your fav part so far?? Please, dont reveal any spoilers from the 3rd book:eek: !!!

I like Rothen the most. Sonea too, but since she's the main character I like to look out for other characters who appeal to me. Oh, and Dorrien too. He seems genuinely nice.

My favourite parts were Rothen finding and helping Sonea in Book 1 but I can't think of a favourite in book 2. I enjoyed all of it. Book 3 is definitely the best though!

The Age of Five is even better in my opinion. Trudi has definitely improved her style. Book 1 Priestess of the White begins with Auraya being named a Priestess of the White, one of five to be so. She is already skilled in certain arts though, sort of conflicting with the White. There are, of course, opposing factions we get to know of, and others of power that we meet.

It a series definitely worth reading. Others on this forum have commented on the fact that she creates names for animals, clothing etc that vaguely resemble real creatures and things on earth, and it did irritate me too at first, but she's created a world, so it follows she may as well create everything in it too. She addresses the point in her own words on the FAQ section of her website.

How are you going with book 3, Chanel?

Well i haven't yet started to read the 3rd book yet but i'll be starting it hopefully in a few days, i can't wait to read it:D!!! Im just at the part where Sonea and Regin are fighting in a formal battle. Whats Trudi Canavan's website? I'll deffinetly look in to the other books she's writen.

The third book is definitely the best, 'High Lord'.

I have to say I really wasn't overly impressed with the Age of Five. It has been ok and I will finish the third book once its out.

Trudy Canavan's website is http://www.trudicanavan.com.
