Yay! I finished the Farseer Trilogy! I'm probably the last one on the board to read it,

Not quite--I haven't read it yet myself, although I've always meant to. :)

Ok, I am very happy right now, becuase i just read TWO good books in a row.
Moonshine by Rob Thurman, and The Myth Hunters by Christopher Golden.

Moonshine by Rob Thurman is the sequel to his first book Nightlife where he continues the story of Caliban (love the name ahahaha), a human whose father was a monster, and his older brother. The colordul descriptions and characterization are excellent, the story moves at a quick pace, and the quick little humorous banter throughout it really makes this author shine. Highly recommended.

The Myth Hunters by Christopher Golden was originally a author i did not have much hope for. Like Rob Thurman's book, I picked it up off the shelf with no prior knowl.edge of them. Glad my expectation was crushed :). This book reminds me a bit of Anasi Boys by Neil Gaimon (another excellent book) becuase of its use of mythological (don't kill me!) creatures throughout the story. The story is similar to Moonshine in its good quality, but there is little humor. Although this book is not as strong an offering as Rob Thurman's book in my opinion it is only a small step down. Highly recommended.

Oh and the sequel to Myth Hunters came out 2 days ago :).

Let's see:

This month I've been reading through Charlie Huston's excellent non-genre trilogy that starts with Caught Stealing. If you liked Altered Carbon because of the action and pacing and violence, stop what you are doing right now and go buy these books. Still have the 3rd book in the series to read.

Just finished Before They Are Hanged. It was excellent.

Now I'm starting The Name of the Wind. Trying to not let the massive amount of hype distort my impression.

After a long abscene from Sffworld and fantasy novels in general, I think I'll be back around here again. This month I started China Mieville's Perdido Street Station which so far seems very promising. I have only read one of his other novels before, which I enjoyed immensily. Other then that, I probably will read Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay, though I'll most likely end up starting that in April.

Altered Carbon was real good, the second in the series was good, but the most recent one had the same stuff and it pretty much sucked. :(

Yay! I finished the Farseer Trilogy!...Of course I want to dive right into Liveship Traders, but hoping to avoid burnout, I think I'll read something short and completely different in between.I've tried to read something different, I really have. :p

But what I really want to be reading is more Hobb, so Ship of Magic it is!:D
