does anything else think that Erickson is underusing the great characters hes created, specifically i am talking about Rake and Brood.
of course i know they will be used later though but damn i wanted them to be all through the books

I wouldn't say under-using, no. Glad they're not over-used though. The sheer scale of the books would make one character being in every book a bit silly really ;) Although If you include prologues, I think Rake has only missed out on House of Chains so far...

I'd also say that "using" such powerful characters too much, particularly these two who have been around for so long and have so much experience (so they aren't feeling their way like Paran and others who also have lots of power), could be a mistake since it would take some of the mystery from the books....

i get what yous are saying about over using, but im talking about underusing here, i mean he hasnt really used them at all so far except for one book each?.
my guess would be that he saving them and they will both unleash all there powers towards the end to make it a big WTF for everyone.

yes - something to look forward to.
luckily both of those characters have serious reasons to keep their powers under wraps most of the time - otherwise it would just be too easy to have them resolve alot of the problems other characters face.
