There was a book I read quite a few years ago now that I remember as being brilliant but stupidly at the time ended up returning it to the library and completely forgetting the author or title or anything about it but now im quite keen to track it down and read it again, see what else ther author has done and check out the rest of the series (im pretty sure it was part of a series). I can remember a few random details about the book and if anyone could tell me the author or name of it from my descriptions I would be very grateful.
It was a fantasy book set in a fictional world with two main continents connected by an isthmus, one of them being quite developed and seperated into three 'countries' with similar ratios of power/size/population as that of england scotland and wales. I think the main characters name was Tobias who was some sort of wizard and had a falcon. The book entails him travelling to the other continent and his subsequent adventures also involving the leader of one of the various gangs in the major city of the other continent who is female and a martial arts expert. There are weapons in the book similar to guns called 'throwers' (one thing im 100% sure of) and thats about all I remember, if anyone has read this book and recognizes this description could you please tell me the name/author??

I think you are describing the Lon-Tobyn Chronicles by David B. Coe. I read them a few years ago and that sounds exactly like them. The first book in the series is The Children of Amarid, then The Outlanders, and the Eagle Sage. I remember liking them pretty well, but not the best. I hear his other series, Winds of the Forelands, is pretty good too. Hope this helps.
