I'm trying to find a children's sci-fi book from about 20 years ago.
It was about a young boy and a time traveller (perhaps an alien).
I can only remember two scenes and not that clearly i'm afraid.
The first is where the time traveller appears in a park. He slowly fades into the young boys peripheral vision, a bit like a shadow, and when he does appear the boy can't decide if he had always been there or not.
The other is a scene where they have to decorate a house and the time traveller uses a time ray beam to make them move in high speed to get the job done.
I think he could also use this time beam to slow things down.
I know this isn't much to go on but if anyone can find this book then I think that it's you good people at sffw.
I always think about this story for some reason. I read it in my grans house in one afternoon so it can't be that long and it had a green cover (mabey) if that's any help.
Thank you all.
also, it was set in the UK (prob)
