Here is one I am sure came across all of our brains-
What author (whose work you enjoy) would you like to meet and what would you say or ask them? (Only 1 or 2 questions).

Before ya start don't even go there with the: "Why are you doing this to us readers and dragging it out?" and "You are a blatant copy/rip-off of this other author!"

Fire away!

The only one Who I would like to meet is Feist and I was lucky to do that at a book signing for Shards of a broken Crown a few years back. What did I ask him? Will Pug live forever or will he become the god of magic ?
He told me to wait and see.Looking back now I don't think I could have asked a dumber Question. As if he would give me an answer to that.

I would like to meet Tolkien.
my question to him would be "so, what's it like being dead?"

I'd quite like to meet Terry Pratchett. I could have a couple years ago at book signing but for reasons I forget I never bothered. A bit of a pity since it's unlikely he'll be coming by a backwater litlte city like mine that often. As to what I'd ask him, I have no idea.

Failing that I'd quite like to meet David Gemmell.

Stephen Donaldson, after I had shaken his hand I would throw him against a wall and demand "When are you gonna give us the 3rd Chronicles books?"... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Another author I would like to meet is JV Jones, I like her books, but that ain't why I would like to meet her... I think she is a BABE,... Oh my god, I am in love http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I would like to meet George R.R. Martin.
"Do you know you are the only consensus on the SFFWORLD messages board?"

Also, Roger Zelazny, but he is dead.

If it was possible, Tolkien.
I'd ask him if he knew what he has created with his books... and if he's proud of it if he sees now that fantasy has become a whole genre and so on...
(in fact, I think I'd be so surprised I'd possibly fall down to my knees or run away or sth equally foolish...) :/
