How often do you read? Daily, two or three times a week? I must confess that at the moment I'm overdoing it a little bit. That's to say I'm reading at least three hours a day, often more, mostly at night. So I wake up feeling quite wrecked in the morning. But it seems I just can't stop when I'm into it.
So how's your strategy?

--When I go to the Gym in the morning I read when I am on the Bike/Treadmill for 40 Min.
--I take the train to work, each way it's about 40-50 minutes, I read there.
--I read on my Lunch hour (60 minutes).
--I read when I get home after dinner for couple hours.

It depends when I have new books which have just arrived, i read for about 3-4 hours when I get home from Sixth form school, Then if the book is very interesting I'll go to bed early so I can read the book, which I end up read for another 3 hours and sometimes more. So in the morning I'm too tired.

I read every night before I go to bed for usually about 30 minutes to an hour. I also read every tuesday and thursday for my classes. I don't have class on tuesday and thursday, and I have a herniated disc in my back right now, so I cannot work, so I read alot on Tuesday and Thursday.

On a side note, I am having surgery on my back on Tuesday, March 27th, so after that, I will not be so bad off. I will be on the road to recovery instead of down a dark path of pain.

I feel almost ashamed to say this... but I am lucky in that I work alone, and I have a lot of time to read at work, however I don't take large books to work. I mainly read TSR and detective fiction... in fact any book that I term 'light reading'. My favorite of these are The Brother Cadfael Mysteries by Ellis Peters.

I hope to god nobody from my employers ever come on this forum http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Other than that, I read before I go to sleep, and on my nights off.

Oh and Charles... good luck with the Op my friend http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

When I'm on holiday from school I usually read about 4 hours a day, but i'm at school now so I read about an hour every night.

I don't really have any regular reading patterns or anything. How much I read each day or week varies greatly depending on my mood and what else I have to do. I might not read naythign for a few days or I might spend four hours traight reading somehting. I usually try to get at least an hour/half hour of reading in a day. I general read a lot more in the holdiays when I have heaps of time on my hands.

I think I get between 15 and 20 hours a week to read. I guess it depends on the week... computer games and movies on my home theater eat up my free time. Not to mention the girlfriend http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/wink.gif Wonder if I'll finish When True Night Falls this week or not. Has anyone read any of C.S. Friedman's books? Worth getting?

Friedman's Cold Fire Trilogy is great dark fantasy on the edge of sci fi featuring Gerald Tarrant, one of the my all time favorite characters in books.
She also wrote The Madness Season that is also recommended, great book about an immortal human with strange powers that is taken by aliens that take over Earth... and then the plot gets complicated...
I also read In Conquest Born which is Friedman's first book, i found it quite boring.
