I havent read this series, but, I am susprised more people havent really mention'd it. It is often compared to George R. R. Martin's series.. And, what I've read on the jackets, it seems somewhat sprawling in size..

Anyone read this series??

I have seen others on this board mention it and considered picking it up, but haven't read it, or any Kate Elliot books.

I LOVE this series! It is my current second favorite series (second only to GRRMartin). I would love if you read it and let me know what you think of it! I havent seen too much discussion od it here......but then again, Im new!
It is quite large in scope....with many different POV characters. There are 4 books in the series so far and I still dont have a very good idea of where all this is going. I LOVE that. It doesnt happen often.
A definate "must read"!

Yes, this is a pretty good series. I wouldn't put it on the same scale as SoFaI, but it does have the same "feel". The characters don't have quite the same depth, and the world building isn't as sprawling or detailed, but all in all it is worth trying. I give it 3.5 stars.

There will be 5 books in that series so i'm waiting for the 5th book to be out before i start reading it. Much more fun to read a series without waiting years between books...

Definitely more fun to read a series straight through without having to wait for 2 years for the next volume. I'm glad I've built up my "to-read" pile to the point where I can do this decently.

What are the books names in the series? (can you write it in order please), I'll be reading Black company soon, but after that I may start on this.

Watch out though! Kate does warn readers that she may have to extend it to 6 books, so there may be one in between Child of Flame and Crown of Stars.
