Well, this is my favourite author.I like his characters, his stories, his atmosphere, his dialogues.I think that he is the best fantasy author of all times,in whole world.
What do you think about Ray?

I picked up Magician for the first time about a week ago and I am now reading Silverthorn. I really enjoy the books--good characters, interesting magic, neat creatures, good storytelling.

I like his books a lot (At least what I have read so far).

The Midkemian Series (Riftwar, Serpentwar, Empire) is in my top 5 fantasy series ever..
And Magician is one of the best fantasy books ever written.
Rise of a merchant prince was a total bore though...

Feist is excellent, love his books (although I think he could be putting more effort into his last two novels...even though the story is fun and fast moving, they seem to be a bit short of his usual quality).

He has that knack, just like Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, of creating outstanding characters that you love reading about.

On a side note, I had the chance of meeting him at a convention a few years ago, and he is probably the coolest author I've ever met.

The Best writer of Fantasy ever.He writes to the point without all the other crap that alot of writers put in there books. His plots flow very well and his characters are easy to understand yet you still get a good idea as to the reasons why they do the things they do and when one of them may die you really feel a real sence of loss.I to have meet the man at a book signing for Shards Of A Broken Crown here in Australia and he is a very cool man.
I like him ALOT http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Feist does several things very well. These include a very fast pace, good action scenes, and characters that are easy to identify with. The apprentice books were very good.

However, if you are interested in a high degree of intellectual stimulation or complex characters and plot, you might wish to turn elsewhere.

Feist is in my top 5 all time also. He creates characters one can instantly love. I think Pug is probably one of the best characters ever created. Though, the way Calis is panning out, he might take over that role for me. But with Magician he created characters that will live on in my mind forever; Pug, Tomas, Jimmy, Arutha, and no one can ever forget Nakor.

Which series are better-Riftwar or Serpentwar? Here,in Bulgaria, are published only Riftwar, but in summer will be published and "Serpentwar"
And...my favourite character is Ruagh-the dying golden dragon. This charpter was the best fantasy "thing"I've ever read.

i'm reading magician: apprentice for the first time right now. I can't decide whether or not to continue with it after this one though; maybe if I hadn't read a few other things first I would have liked this one more.

About that one scene with the dying dragon: I don't think it's the best scene in fantasy...but it might have been. I think if the story had been more, well, more graphic (particularly in the dragon's telling of his tale, I really wanted to read his story more indepth) it would have been far better.

I haven't finished it yet, still have a hundred or so pages left, so maybe this book will pick up. I've heard that the book ends in a cliff-hanger of sorts, because it used to be the first half of a larger work that also encompassed Magician: Master...I hope this isn't true, because I may never learn the how's and why's of the heroes "escape".

I'll let you guys know what I thought of it after I finish the rest tomorrow. (day off! day off! whoooo hoooooo)
