Belgarion

I apologise in advance if I am being a nosey bugger, but I afraid curiosity got the better out of me.

Since I am new at this website i was curious about some people's handles.

For example my name is Walker Boh due to the druid in Terry Brook's Shannara series.

That where Allanon got his handle from refering to the old druid.

FitzChivalry has his name from the Robin Hobb's Farseer series.

But I am boggled by the FitzFlagg name?

I understand that Fitz is derived from Robin Hobb...but what about "Flagg"? I assume that is derived from the Stephen King's book "The Stand" referring to the evil Flagg?

Am I correct there Fitzflagg?

You deduced correctly. But where does Belgarion come from?

SK is my favorite author. Fitz also is a medieval reference meaning Bastard. So techically, my name means, medievally speaking "bastard son of Flagg."

I use the name "Flagg" in another forum and wanted to change it up here a bit.

Well you should have used Fitz on the other forum then, taking the above into account http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As you might guess...Belgarion comes from the INFAMOUS David Eddings Belgariad/Mallorean Series. Belgarion is the main character!!

He is quite a cool character.

Not everyone on here uses names alluding to fantasy or sf novels. My nick is actually my name. I am sorry it is so boring, but I don't have to keep up with many random nicks if I use this. It works great when you have millions of logins and passwords to keep up with. Also, on a side note, I had my back surgery, and it went well. I am up and about now. I don't have pain in my legs anymore, which is the reason I had the surgery. I am a happy person. While I have been recovering, I have been reading and playing video games. I have beaten 2 video games (Lunar II and Final Fantasy IX), and I am working on Breath of Fire IV. I am reading Grapes of Wrath, and I have finished one of my papers that is due next month. It is amazing how much you can get done when you are pretty much limited to sitting around the house high on a pain killer, muscle relaxer, and anti-inflamitory drugs. I need to read my paper when I am not on the medication to make sure it is understandable though. Oh well, back to Breath of Fire IV.

Charles is your name? All this time I thought you were referring to "Charles" from Feist's "Magician". I guess that makes two of us on this forum who use our own nicks http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
Hope you're recovering nicely.
