I have read 200 pages of Martin's aSoF and it absolute brilliant....however this doesn't mean that he has knocked Eddings off of my all-time greats....yet. However, there are encouraging signs that I may start to be a new fan of Martin...but I have only read 200 pages and there is still a very long way to go.

It is very different to Eddings and I am starting to wonder whether we should have compared the two as they are two different extracts.

Anyway..gotta go and read some more..it is unputdownable.

Sorry, I would like to apologise for upsetting any avid, zealous Martin's fan as I think I can understand why they care so much about the man.

May peace be with you!!

Cool Bel. Glad to hear you are enjoying Mr. Martin. What is so unreal about it is how real and believable it seems.

FYI I deleted a GRRM Topic yesterday that had one reply because there were 3 or 4 GRRM topics on this front page.

No need to start a new topic if there are at least 2 that are fairly current (i.e. recent post on first page/within 2 weeks.)

Forget not the Ageless Stranger, Flagg.

UNPUTDOWNABLE. Yeah, that pretty much sums up the whole series. Belgarion, try to resist the temptation to read the books too fast. I know I blasted my way through the books and missed alot of important details. There is alot of subtle foreshadowing that can easily be missed. When I re-read the series I read much slower and picked up on alot of stuff I did not notice before.

Belgarion. Now that you have read Martin you can never read another fantasy author again.
