Finally! I wondered what happened to this series. I liked the first novel and I'm interested to see where it goes from here.

Here is the Amazon Page (http://www.amazon.com/Dark-River-Fourth-Realm-Trilogy/dp/0385514298/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-8031939-3965657?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1177901923&sr=8-1)

Release Date is July 10, 2007 (US).

I think there's a good chance that it is a legit release date since Rick Kleffel's already been sent a review copy (http://trashotron.com/agony/shelves/2007/04-30-07.htm) (love that he posts pictures of his proofs/ARCs when he get's them) [Hey Charlie Huston's got a new out-of-genre hardcover coming out too! Woo hoo!]

I really enjoyed The Traveler, not at all what I expected when I picked up the book. Wondered when the sequel was due out, so looking forward to this.

It's a bit crazy and reminded me of a book called Adept by Robert Finn.

Any thoughts on who John Twelve Hawks really is?

My gut feeling is that he is a well-known author and that this is a side-project for him. The author-as-conspiracy-nut angle smacks heavily of promotional propaganda.

I'd die laughing if it were the pseudonym of Tom Clancy.

Well, I just posted my review of "The Dark River" HERE (http://fantasybookcritic.blogspot.com/2007/07/dark-river-by-john-twelve-hawks.html). Personally, I thought it was a solid follow-up, but not nearly as compelling or entertaining as "The Traveler" was. It could be that "The Traveler" was such a great book that it was hard for "The Dark River" to measure up. Or it could be, that it was a middle volume in a trilogy where the majority of the good stuff seems to be saved for book three. It could also be that the novelty has worn off a bit from the first one. I think it's a combination of all of the above. Still, while the book was a bit disappointing and I think it could have been better, I still enjoyed it,but that's just me. So, if anyone else has read the book yet, I'm wondering what other people are thinking...

Thanks for reading and much love & respect.
