I have 4 papers due in April. A 20 to 30 page paper (he wants closer to 30), a 7 to 10 page paper, a 5 to 10 page paper, and a 6 page paper. I have started the 5 to 10 page paper, I have started research on the 30 page paper, I have information on where to look for the 7 to 10 page paper, and I haven't even looked at the 6 page paper. I cannot wait for this next month to be over with. Isn't that so much fun. I am not even through with this month, and I am looking forward to the end of next month. Yay for me.. The topics of my paper are the following:
30 page paper: History of the South post Civil War, topic is Racism in Cullman County, Alabama.
7 to 10 page paper: Medieval History in Europe, topic is Nicholas of Cusa.
5 to 10 page paper: Ethics, topic is Kill Two Birds with One Stone: Feed the Homeless to the Hungry.
6 page paper: English Literature, topic is unknown because I haven't even looked at it.
Well, I must go back to studying for a test for Medieval History now. I will be back later. Have fun reading, I will be reading nonstop until I finish all those papers, unfortunately, none of the reading will be on Fantasy.

I can't say I envy you... *big grin* My load of work for the next month is much easier - one test in geography, one about the connection between physical training and food, one book review and some small oral presentations... All of it, except the geography, quite simple. I've done a test about African History today and it was boring but easy...
Try to look at it the bright way, medieval history is quite interesting, and think about it, it could have been maths instead! :0)
Good Luck.

Thanks FitzFlagg.. I was fully expecting the teacher to turn down that topic, but when I went to him, he said I could write about it. It will be the most creative paper of the bunch. My favorite one to write will be about racism in Cullman because it will be a very good topic to oral research and there are few books on it. That makes it much more fun to write for me.
Oh, and that didn't include the two tests I have that month either. And May 6-12 is finals week. So it is not like it is much better in May either, but at least that is when it ends.. Gotta love the end of semesters...

I see, you've got a lot to do with all those papers to write and so on - I only have to write one research paper apart from the average of one test and three interrogations a week - but you finish school a whole month earlier than I do! (And then start the exams which may last until about 20th of July...)

Here at Auburn, we would be almost through with summer semester by then. Wow, that is a long time to go to school.

The only thing that comforts me about doing highschool assignments is the realization that all those people in University have it so much harder. Too bad that's what i've got to look forward to.

It is not so bad in college. I have all these papers because I am taking Ethics, English Literature, and two history classes this semester. All of these are reading and writing classes. I am also doing something that most college students don't do, I am complaining about the papers almost a month in advance. 3 of these papers are due after April 15th. The other, the one I haven't started, is due the week I get back from spring break. Also, writing papers are for certain majors. I am a history major. We have to write many papers. I think the only major that writes more papers than us are english majors. If writing is not your strong point, don't go into a liberal arts major. Choose something that you will not be writing all the time. I also can write if I take the time. I have been given the ability to write out of my butt and have teachers fall for it. I got an 88 on a 10 page paper last semester that I spent 2 hours on. I think that is one reason I chose history also, other than the fact that I love the subject. Don't choose history or english if you don't like to write, don't choose engineering if you don't like math. Choose something that suits your likes. I did, and that has made all the difference.

Hey Charles I totally agree with you! I'm back in college after 4 years on the job market and the writing skills I gained studying history(I have a B.A.) are sure coming handy. I also think that by learning how to write better you also learn how to READ better! And lastly, with all the description and exposition you do on a given subject in your papers you also become a better communicator of knowledge. I coached some peewee(12 to 13 year olds) football during the summer and found that although I had never done this before I was in fact better than my cohorts in transmitting new information. All I did was transfer the way I structured a history dissertation to this new area and found that it actually worked in the "real" world. You never know when things you learned in the past can come in handy at some point in the future...
