Dunston (or something?)

Every time I go to the library I see these fantasy books that never seem to be borrowed out. It's a series with a little beaver looking fellow on the cover. The name of the books ussually have the word Dunston somewhere but the author has slipped my mind.
Does anyone know what i'm talking about? And if so has anyone read them?

I think you are talking about the Duncton books by William Horwood.

The are actually about moles... yes you read that right... MOLES, but don't let that put you off, they are very good books. They got magic, fighting and great heroic quest... just with moles, no humans.

There are two 'sets' of Duncton Books... I cannot remember the exact titles right now... but I will find out if you wish.

It is funny that a topic has been posted about wolves, b/c Horwood also published a series of books about a pack of wolves, called The Wolves Of Time, another very good read.

I have found the titles:-

Book of Silence
Duncton Wood
Duncton Found
Duncton Quest

Duncton Tales
Duncton Tales
Duncton Stone
Duncton Rising

He has also wrote a lot of other good books, a notible one of which is Skallagrigg, a really brilliant story about a young girl with cerebral palsy, and also about how chidren with disabilities where treated in the 1920's.

Yeah, the Duncton books are really good, despite the weird look etc.

They're sort of like Redwall Books, but much more advanced, so don't let the strange appearance put you off, they're a good read, as are the Wolves Of Time books by the same author
