I read a series of (I think) 3 books, a long time ago and I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the titles to no avail.
Searches haven't been any help here or on the net, so I'm finally asking you folks.
OK, so what I remember is the story took place post-apoc. Humanity lives in orbit above earth in bubble-type habitats.
The story-line however had to do with genetically engineered pairs, bred as assassins during the earths last days.
Duos bred and trained to work, think, act together as one.
The main character was a man named Gillian, I think, who was once one of these duos. His female counterpart had been killed long before and he now works with some guy, who's a midget? hunting down the last surviving duos.
As weapons they use some dark, egg-shaped things, weird as that sounds.
Anyone recognize any of this?
They were pretty good books in my opinion.
