I'm watching the Earthsea TV adaption right now, it's on Hallmark, the american accents are distracting for some reason. That girl, no idea what her name is (i now know it's Tenar) was in Smallville and HEY it's Isabella Rossellini, she was in the Merlan TV movie thing. It's not really grabbing me at the moment, i probably should read the books seeing as you guys keep pimping them :D . Unfortunately i only saw part two, i'm going to watch part 1 tomorrow (ahh the many wonders of Pay TV). I've decided i will read the books, i didn't mind the movie (even if it was overly corny, with a little bad acting thrown in) the story seems interesting.

It's strange, because i read a book with a character called Boaz (Threshold) ,so whenever people mention that BOAZ-JOACHIM (however it's spelt) i always think of that book. It's always weird when characters in different books have the same name, the characteres will always cross over in my mind.

I will read Earthsea, even though i know how it ends :D ... 'Sparrowhawk'? counldn't she come up with a better name? It's just so.... boring. I'm also going to read 'Gifts', ahh yes the cause of all this buisness leading to "The Naming". It's funny i just read an excerpt, it was extremely vauge, but they were also talking about 'the gift', in a way that makes it seem similar to our own Alison's 'gifts' in Gift and Riddle.

omg.... it's 3 am, i am going to die... need sleep, must go bedsv./xvxc?<go ikk

sorry fell asleep on the keyboard there...

Want to second Alison's recommendation of Alan Garner, specially the book 'Red Shift'.

lol, that look into my eyes thing was pretty lame. AND how they kissed at the end and all... what about that girl Ged left behind at the start, He's a bit of a player eh :D . I can sort of see the similarity to Cadvan, though, i prefer Cadvan... they both have scars near their eyes too, caused by some creature of evil! :D . Earthsea was fairly good, nicely shot, though the computer graphics *SH*T*...

LOL yeah i thought they couldn't done a betta job of the evil monster thing and there was definetly a VERY thick coatin of cheese over the whole thing. :D

Yeah am likin Cadvan better!!! But Ged was pretty kl but quite plainly not as kl as Cadvan and Maerad would beat Tenar any day :) :D

VERY thick, that guy playing Ged... sucks sooooo bad.... yuergh. I hate it (no offense) when in, fantast TV things or even movies, there are people with american accents... it just ruins it for me, i just can't get into it at all then. Classic example, a movie about a price, father killed, Kingdom overrun, cry's on dragon statue, dragon comes to life, feed metal> dragon grows etc etc... well the prince had an american accent, i just counldn't get into it. I guess i'm just biased :D . Somewhere someone said, that the premise of the Nameless was good, but the effects and the overall look was really crappy, i agree. It would have been better if they made them into some sort of broiling dark mass,
1 would have been 'scarier' and
2, with the level of FX they were using it would have looked a hell of alot better :D .

OK, I'd really better be off to bed then. Nite all...

Trust me, Maerad would kick Tenar's arse :D , Maerad has freaky powers man, what does Tenar have... keys... that's right, KEYS... and the "lost" pendant thing was lame, it wasn't exactly lost was it? didn't have to go on a quest for it or anything... some fantasy characters have no idea how easy they have it :D. Another thing, how awful was that Kirsten Kirsch's (whatever her name is) acting... god, that scene when Venerable Mother dies... "NOOOO. PLEASE......noooo", nearly sh@t me to tears... :p
