Ahem ...
The Tomorrow Series (Homer is the coolest wog ever)
Have to agree with you there :D
well *ahem* one author i'd recommend is Sara Douglass, the only porblem with her is that she lurves writing HUGE books, all of her books are around 600 pages long... but well worth it IMO:D. My absolutely fav of hers is Threshold, with the Axis trilogy coming in a close second

Wolf Brother is nice and I saw Spirit Walker (the sequel) on sale the other day. However, it's the hardcover version so the paperback is still a while in coming, methinks.
I read the Sword of Shannara a couple of weeks ago. I didn't particularly like it as it seemed so very much like LOTR - an evil, non-human guy who wants to take over the world, a talisman that determines the victory or defeat of the evil one, a very unwilling hero, a very wise, powerful wizard-like personage, an elite company travelling with the hero to retrieve/get rid of said talisman ...
On the other hand, I read the first book in Dragonriders of Pern. It's interesting although it's not really my type of thing. A friend recommended it to me and I can definitely see how it appeals to other people.
