I really love the Alex Rider series, HP (of course) and there's a really good series called the circle trilogy by a writer called Ted Dekker (anyone heard of him?) but most people aren't v likely to have read this series but its well worth it! ;)

oh! oh!
just had a thought (wow!)
amazing books are:
the dragonrider series by Anne McCaffrey (about 16 books!!!!)
the owl series by Mercedes Lackay and Larry Dixon
really recommend reading these. The anne McCaffrey ones are sci-fi/fantasy and the second lot are fantasy.

I usually give up when I read series that go on forever. There always seems to be a book that I can't find anywhere and I can't read the next one if I haven't read that one so I just foeget about it.

there's such a large time gap between most of the books that they don't need to be read in order and some are just stand-alone books in the same place
another Anne McCaffrey book is Nimisha's ship which i have read almost as much as the Gift (perhaps more *gasp* )
