*smacks herself in the head* I can't believe I forgot Eoin Colfer! The Artemis Fowl books are hilarious...
I read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and liked it, so then I went to read Angels and Demons... and was so disappointed by it that I never finished reading it. It was SO similar to The Da Vinci Code... in both books Robert Langdon gets a call in the middle of the night asking him to investigate a murder... and in both books the victim has been murdered weird... and in both books Langdon meets some gorgeous intelligent woman related to the victim... and then there's an assassin type dude (like Silas or the Hassassin guy, forgot his name) and... yeah I felt as though Dan Brown ripped himself off! Lol. But that's just my personal opinion. Feel free to defend Dan Brown.

I have to admit to reading all Dan Brown's books so far. I have to agree tha one is good (anyone!) but after that they all follow exactly the same formula. Too prodictable for my liking. If you read into the masonic law and history you can kinda believe that it isn't as far from the truth than we would believe though.

Ah, well, we all got our different opinions. Like Kadge said, Dan Brown kinda used the exact same formula for Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code. It actually reminds me of Brian Jacques, who wrote the Redwall series -I truly loved those books but I stopped reading them some years ago because he, too, fell into the bad habit of using the exact same formula, plot structure, and types of characters for every book he wrote... they became really predictable. And it makes me sad because I don't think he realizes this and the stories ARE great, but not when he's written 10 other stories just like them.

my friend is a real fan of John Marsden's tommorow series but told me its probably too gory for my liking.
I've read Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl was so funny!!! :D Is there a new one out?
I used to read Redwall aswell - but also found it too repetitive. The best part of it was the description of the food at the feasts. Yummy!!!!!
Anyone read Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books? Different but good although i have read 4/5 of his books and they are pretty repetitive too.
I have only read Tamora Pierce's song of the lioness quartet and her circle of magic (i think) series i loved them both. The characters were so real. sadly our library never has full set of the others and ive taken to going to the adult library now...
