And yodee I remember laughing, too. Like when she did the dramatic maiden in distress thing on a raft in the river and had to get rescued by her mortal enemy, Gilbert. Hahaha.
Yes, that was probably it. Can't remember exactly, I have an awful memory!

Try A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. Mixes fantasy, Victorian era, and romance together. This is one of my fave books.
You could also try Tithe by Holly Black... sort of modern-day mixed with old Celtic fantasy stuff. And romance, too. Its subtitle is "a modern faerie tale."
If you like vampire/werewolf stuff, try Blood and Chocolate by Vivian Van Velde (I think). It's a bit dirty in some spots... but pretty good.

can any1 recommend something that's out at the mo that's worth getting. fantacy with a touch of reality and maybe a bit of romance somewere? I'd recommend Threshold by Sara Douglass. It is set in a Fantasy world, but one that is most definatly based on Egypt and some northern parts of Europe. It's, agian, the story of a youngish girl who finds she has remarkable powers &c&c and is also a slight romance. I love it even more because it's betwwen two character who start off hating each other :D
