Maximum Ride? I am reading the series right now, and it is amazing. Hmm, Books....
Anything by Terry Pratchett is bound to be good, though I especially liked Monseterous Regiment, Interesting Times, and Good Omens.
I just read the first Faerie Wars book, that was pretty great.
The Warriors books were pretty good also,
Or Terry Brooks, he is good too.
