I've just finished this amazing book called the Dark Magician Trilogy. it was every good and it really was a 'page-turner.' it was so addicting and i had to find out what happened next that i read till midnight until i finished it (not joking) the author is australien (surprise, all the good authors seem to coem from there!) and she's brillllient at writing.
the first book is called The Magicens Guild and its about a slum girl who finds that she is a magican. she finds out in a great surcumstance (im not going to spoil the surprise). afraid that the Guild would kill her if they found out she is hid by the Theives and the advanture continues. it was a great read and i recomened it to anyone who likes books.
Hmmm read it..it was allright...A bit of a easy read..lol midnight..wow thats so late ;) ..The latest I have read is 4:30 (Storm Of Swords).. :D

Has anyone heard of the Dreamguard trilogy by John Dutton (I think)? I'm about halfway through the first one after receiving it for my birthday and then starting it last night.
I think the author is Australian - not sure but that's the only country where it's relatively easy to get hold of because the publisher is Australian, (I think). (I was sent it by relatives in Australia and looked at the publishing/ordering info, because I hadn't heard of the publisher). In the UK you have to order it from this one person.
I'm currently reading the 1st book - St Giles' Fair. It's not like anything I've ever read before. I can't even describe it or compare it to anything else, because there is NOTHING which is ANYTHING like it.
The basic ingredients of the plot: 1 evil witch who feeds off children's emotions by trapping them in a television, in certain situations; 2 children helped by the witch's talking cat (who has gone against the witch and is protecting them); each child 'splitting' into 2, 1 of which is captured by the witch (adult-self), and the other 1 has to try and rescue the captured 1(child-self). If that sounds like something from a book for 8-year-olds, it's not. It can get quite eerie and unusual at points. There's a lot of 'dark wisdom in those tales' (quote from book).
Confused? I'm not surprised, but it is a really good book. If you can get hold of it, try it.
