cottonbutterfly June 19th, 2008, 09:29 PM I tend to read whatever looks interesting, but mainly I read Tamora Pierce, Jane Austen, anything about dancing or finding God, J.K. Rowling, or Robert Jordan.
I know I'm missing some, but those are all that popped into my mind right now.
Sirkana June 20th, 2008, 02:50 PM So, just to add something new, any Tamora Pierce fans around? Namely, fans of the Tortall books?
LOVE them. Fantastic light reading. I've read all her novels except The Will of the Empress (not Tortall, Circle) - have any of you read it and what did you think? Because I've read all the spoilers I have a pretty good idea of what happens, though I'm not sure I want anything else spoilt...
cherie June 20th, 2008, 03:45 PM I see you've read Eclipse; how was it? I've loved her twilight books, but I didn't want to buy Eclipse in hard back, unless it was fabulous.
Eclipse rocked. the order i liked the books in were - Twilight, Eclipse, New Moon. I cant wait for Aug. Breaking dawn will be out. im going to start reading the host on monday when my coworker brings it in.
If you do get eclipse get the special edition. it has tshirt transfers, the breaking dawn book cover poster and the first chapter of BD.
Migey June 20th, 2008, 03:55 PM has anyone read darren shans demonata?
if you have then do you think that prea athim (who is bound to be the bad girl in the 8th book) will be acting of her own free will or shel be being controlled by LL or Death?
Bree June 20th, 2008, 03:55 PM ah. i want to get hold of that limited edition.
i want those transfers. and a copy of the first chapter would be divine.
it would ease my need for breaking dawn alot.
Criselle June 20th, 2008, 07:22 PM I just found that Kate Constable wrote another book called The Taste of Lightning
Another book? Yay! *goes off to search tiny library for said book*
Eyes of Wolf June 21st, 2008, 01:38 PM Well, I haven't read Death's Shadow or Demon Apocalypse...but of course I know who Prae is...hmmm ("Prae Athim" "Pray at him???" lol) Probably controlled because from what I know of her, which isn't much, she's a nasty piece of work but not necessarily evil, much like Umbridge.
As for Eclipse, I think that, as Bridie said, 1200 pages (Twilight and New Moon together) is time enough for a whiny individual to get her act together! Plus, she still hasn't learned, really. At the end of Eclipse, she begs Edward to stay with her, even though she knows Edward is an invaluable fighter. I know she loves him and needs comfort, but she should seriously buy herself some backbone and stop thinking the world revolves around her. I know Edward isn't really perfect, but everything he does wrong is portrayed in a good way so you almost believe he's doing the right thing. As for the Maerad thing: Granted. Maerad is sometimes moody, sometimes grumpy, sometimes evil, sometimes downright annoying. But she isn't like this for the whole book. She redeems herself with moments of remorse and goodness. She truly is reformed. But Bella claims she is, and isn't. The end of Eclipse only proves that.

I totally agree. I mean, I love the books, but not her. She's not even a person; she has no dreams, ambitions, heck, she has no HOBBIES. Totally absorbed into Edward, pulling him from helping his family. And as for Maerad, the fact that she's all those things makes her more real. Bella has no given flaws, only us realizing that she's selfish. Maerad was built with flaws; plus, she has her own life.
And, Midnightruby, yes, I totally heard about the young-Numair book. I had to walk around my room to walk off my excess energy. I'm so stoked for it to come out; I heard 2010. Although honestly, what I REALLY want is the Immortals quartet from Numair's point of view. Stephenie Meyers is doing that for Twilight, I don't see why Tamora can't! ::tear:: Then again, I'll take whatever I can get.
Sirkana June 22nd, 2008, 06:56 AM The young Numair book sounds brilliant...:D
